Hello there! I’m Braden. 

First, I’d like to thank you for visiting my campaign website and engaging with municipal politics. I firmly believe that while municipal politics aren’t as flashy as Provincial or Federal, municipal government is the most impactful. After all, it’s town services that collect our trash, plow our roads, and maintain our water and sewage systems, among so many other things.

Bridgewater is an incredible place to live. It's one of the fastest-growing communities in Atlantic Canada, if not the entire country. We’re a community of ~9,000 people. Having been born, went to school, and worked here, it's been incredible to see the town grow and change over time. 

Being elected Town Councillor for the 2024-2028 term is the honour of a lifetime. I'm no career politician. In fact, my career is in technology education. My life's mission is to make technology easier to understand by creating modern and engaging learning experiences. I do this by creating cybersecurity training courses for IT professionals and teaching Business Technology Management and Management Information Systems. There are few things I enjoy more than helping others learn. 

After high school, I moved to Halifax, where I earned a Bachelor of Commerce in computing and information systems from Saint Mary’s University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Fredericton, concentrating in Technology Innovation. I believe there's tremendous value in combining wisdom, education, and experience. 

In addition to serving on Bridgewater's Town Council, I also sit on Park View Education Centre's School Advisory Council and Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia's Board of Directors.  When I'm not working or giving back to our community, I'm often walking my three dogs: Sniper, Simba, and Honey.

It's incredible to say that I'm the youngest person ever elected to Bridgewater's Town Council (even if it is by only months). My goal is to be an active listener for residents and be your voice. I intend to bring my youth and energy to Council while challenging the status quo. I want to know why we do things the way we do and why they can't be done differently, faster, or less expensive.  

I ran for Town Council because I love Bridgewater. I've always looked for ways to give back to my community, and serving Bridgewater by sitting on Council is the ultimate way to do that.
